Breast
Cancer
Mammogram – Annually after age 50
(after age 40 if at increased risk by family history)
Self- Breast exam monthly
Clinical Breast Examinations every 1 to
2 years after age 40.
Cervical
cancer
Pap test every 3 years for women who
have ever had sexual intercourse and who have a cervix, after
3 or more normal annual Pap tests. Discontinue
regular testing after age 65 if Pap test results have been consistently normal.
Colorectal
cancer
Stool tests for microscopic blood beginning
after age 50 yearly. Colonoscopy
every 10 years beginning about age 55 to
59.
Prostate
cancer
PSA screening beginning at age 50 to
men who have at least a 10-year life expectancy and to younger men at high risk.
Repeat every 1 to 3 years depending on risk.
Skin
Cancer
Skin self-examination should be performed
monthly. Any changes or black moles
should be reported.
Non
Cancer Screening Guidelines
Blood
Glucose (sugar)
– Every year
Cholesterol panel–
Every 5 year if the levels have been normal
Blood Pressure
– Every year ( more frequent if any abnormal readings)
