Preventing Heart Burn

  • Normalize your weight as much as possible.

  • Eat no food between meals.

  • Avoid fatty foods, nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, and chocolate.

  • Limit fluid intake at meal time.

  • Drink plenty of water, 2 1/2 quart per day, but none for 2 hours after a meal.

  • Don't lie down for 4 hours after eating.

  • Don't overeat.

  • If symptom persist put 3-4 inch blocks on the floor at the head of the bed.
